Bai Truong
Bai Truong is not one uniform beach but a long stretch of Phu Quoc's west coast, broken into sections with different access points, services and shoreline conditions. Save the exact place you want to reach rather than telling a driver simply “Bai Truong”.

How to visit
Because the coastline is so long and passes many accommodation properties, choose a specific public access point or the exact resort, restaurant or beach service you intend to use. If you want to swim and stay for sunset, allow a few hours and check that day's wind and sea conditions. Loungers, toilets and beachfront restaurants are often managed by individual resorts or businesses rather than being free public facilities along the entire coast.
One beach name, but really an entire coastline
Local tourism sources describe Bai Truong as extending for nearly 20 km along the southwest coast of Phu Quoc. At that scale, there is no single way to experience it.
A family near Duong To may simply want the closest practical access point. A couple looking for sunset may prefer a section with a restaurant. Walkers should define a start and end point instead of assuming the whole coast can be covered in one outing.
Know before you go
A beautiful sunset photograph from Bai Truong does not represent the condition of the entire coastline. One section may have open sand while another is affected by development or restricted access. Some approaches are public; others pass through privately managed property. Water colour, waves and beach condition are driven by weather and season, not by the name Bai Truong.
Sunset is a strength, but the beach still depends on the day's weather
The west coast faces sunset, but sky colour, cloud, waves, seaweed and beach condition change with season and weather.
A beautiful photograph from one evening cannot represent every day or every section. Strong wind may create a dramatic sea to look at while making swimming a poor idea.
Before you visit
- Identify the exact public beach access or the facilities managed by the resort where you are staying.
- Check wind, wave conditions and whether swimming is safe that day.
- If you are staying for sunset, plan the return route and parking in advance.
- Do not assume every stretch of sand in front of a resort comes with public access to the resort's facilities.
