Bai Dai
Bai Dai on the northwest coast now sits beside major resorts and entertainment complexes. If your goal is the beach itself, identify the exact section and check the real access route, because different parts of the coast have different rules for non-resort visitors.
How to visit
If you are going mainly to swim, find a confirmed public access point and check which services day visitors may use or pay for. If your actual destination is VinWonders, Safari or Grand World, navigate directly to that attraction instead of using the broad Bai Dai pin. The drive from central Phu Quoc is long enough that it usually makes sense to combine Bai Dai with other north-island stops.
Know before you go
Present-day Bai Dai looks very different from older photographs of an empty, undeveloped shoreline. Large resorts and tourism projects now occupy substantial sections, with private access roads, gates and managed facilities. Seeing blue coastline on a digital map does not automatically mean you can stop and enter at any point. Confirming a legitimate access route first can save a great deal of unnecessary driving.
Before you visit
- Decide whether your destination is a public beach section, a specific resort or a named attraction before setting the route.
- Do not assume resort facilities are public or free to use.
- Allow for the drive from the central area and combine nearby north-island stops where practical.
- Assess waves and current at the exact section of coast you plan to use.
