Mui Ganh Dau

Mui Ganh Dau is a small headland projecting from Phu Quoc's northwest coast, not the same thing as the much larger Ganh Dau area. From the right viewpoint on a clear day you can look towards Cambodian waters, but that view is not available from every beach or access point nearby.

How to visit

A trip from Duong Dong can be combined with other north-island stops, but allow time for the drive, parking and movement between places. Check the exact headland location because Ganh Dau is also the name of the wider district. If Safari or Grand World is part of the day, plan the return before it gets late.

Know before you go

Mui Ganh Dau is a relatively simple coastal headland with rocks and natural shoreline, not a large fully serviced eco-tourism complex. Slippery rocks, stronger waves and uneven access can limit where it is safe to stand. Do not enter restricted areas or move too close to the edge simply to get a photograph looking towards Cambodia.

Before you visit

  • Distinguish the headland itself from the wider Ganh Dau district and its separate beaches.
  • Use a recognised public access route and stay clear of slippery, algae-covered rocks.
  • Do not cross restrictions or closed areas for a better photograph.
  • Check sun and wind conditions and know your route back before setting out.
