Hon Thom
Hon Thom is best known to visitors for the cable car and large attractions, but the island also has residential areas and stretches of coast with a very different rhythm. Your day will feel quite different depending on whether the priority is the theme parks, beach time or seeing more of the island beyond the visitor complex.

How to visit
If you are travelling by the Hon Thom cable car, check the last return service before dividing your time between the water park, beach and lunch. Operating hours can change, so confirm them for the actual date. The attraction areas are large and involve a lot of walking, so families with young children should build in rest time.
Know before you go
Many visitors say they have “done Hon Thom” when most of their time has actually been spent around the cable-car station and the large entertainment areas. The island also has local residents and everyday life outside those visitor routes. Exploring beyond the tourism complex requires a different plan and respect for places that are private or not open to visitors.
Before you visit
- Check the last cable-car service back to the mainland for the exact day of your visit.
- Distinguish the entertainment complex from the island's residential and less-developed areas.
- Do not infer whether boat tours can operate from the cable-car schedule; they are separate operations affected by different conditions.
- With young children, allow generous time for walking and rest inside the large attraction areas.
