Rach Vem starfish
There will be days when hundreds of bright red starfish lie still under the crystal clear water in Rach Vem, but there are also times when the shore is empty of them. If you are lucky enough to meet them, enjoy and keep the image right under the water; they are living creatures, absolutely not photographic props.

Check current conditions
Encountering starfish in Rach Vem, you just need to choose a gentle angle that does not make the water cloudy and you can record brilliant frames under the clear water. Ask the locals about the beautiful viewing beach without encroaching on their nest. Whether you meet a starfish that day or not, Rach Vem still has a peaceful fishing village and a shady road through the northern forest of the island awaits you.
Things that are easy to miss
Brilliant starfish photos on the internet only capture a moment of favorable nature, not a commitment that Rach Vem is full of starfish every season. Starfish breathe and live completely underwater; lifting them ashore to pose can cause them to suffocate to death. Watching them under the fresh water is the most civilized and complete experience.
When going out
- Absolutely do not lift the starfish out of the water, even if it is just for a few seconds of taking a photo.
- Avoid stepping on starfish or coastal seagrass beds.
- Don't make sure promises to children that they will see starfish during the trip.
- When the beach is crowded, keep a polite distance and give the angle of view to others.
