Coral reefs in southern Phu Quoc

The brilliant coral reefs around An Thoi archipelago are a paradise for those who love scuba diving to see the ocean. However, the beauty of corals requires clear water conditions and a civilized way of enjoying; absolutely do not stand up, touch or break corals to take pictures.

Check current conditions

For a safe and complete South Island scuba diving experience, choose trips with professional guides, well-fitting life jackets, and clear swimming area indications. Turbid water, fast currents, or overcrowded vessels all affect underwater visibility. Weak swimmers should move close to the group and always follow the tour leader's instructions to change diving sites when the sea moves.

Things that are easy to miss

Shimmering coral photos are often captured in perfect lighting conditions and crystal clear seawater, which is not a common denominator for every dive day. Corals are very sensitive to water temperature, currents, and human impacts. Enjoying from a cherished, untrampled distance is the best way to preserve this pristine beauty.

When going out

  • Do not stand on the reef, do not touch the coral, break the coral or feed the fish.
  • Wear a life jacket properly if your swimming skills are not stable; listen to safety dissemination before entering the water.
  • Absolutely do not dive when weather conditions or sea currents are uncertain.
  • Ask for the ratio of guests/guides and the quality of diving equipment before finalizing the tour.
