The origin of the name Cua Can

Cua Can is both the name of a calm river and the name of a rustic residential area nestled on the northwest bank. According to the elders in the area, there are seasons of dense sand deposits that make the estuary almost filled; and it is believed that this is the source of the name Cua Can rustic.

Because Cua Can covers a whole river, estuary and village, if you are going to come here to paddle or kayak, be sure to ask the people carefully about the wharf and the water that day. The shape of the estuary can "transform" with each season, so don't trust old photos or pins on the map and find the wrong way into the water.

Understanding the story in context

The story of the sand filling the estuary that creates the name Cua Can sounds very natural and matches the characteristics of the terrain. However, landmark researchers have not been able to determine the exact time when this name was born. Ideally, consider this as an interesting anecdote of the locals, in line with the level of available evidence.
