Three-island speedboat tour

Three-island speedboat tours usually leave from An Thoi and combine swimming, snorkelling and beach stops around the southern islets. The number “three” tells you less than the real time at each stop and the operator's backup plan if sea conditions make the advertised route unsuitable.

How to schedule?

Before booking, ask for the departure pier, group size, stop duration at each island, meal details and the condition of the life jackets. The operator should explain what happens if wind or waves require a route change or postponement. For families with young children or weak swimmers, a slower itinerary with fewer stops can be more comfortable.

Do not buy from the island list alone
The An Thoi archipelago has many possible stops. A good tour should explain the real time at sea, the time at each stop, included activities and the alternative if conditions change.
A beautiful island name does not guarantee a good day. A site can be quiet, clear and suitable for snorkelling one day, then crowded, murky or rough on another.

What may be different

Visiting more islands does not automatically mean a better experience; a crowded schedule can leave you spending more time travelling than swimming or exploring. Stop locations, water clarity and reef conditions also change with the sea. Fewer stops with enough time in the water can be more satisfying than rushing through a list.

Coral is not a tour prop
Do not stand on coral, break or touch it, or lift marine animals out of the water. Do not feed fish simply to gather them for photographs.
Follow instructions about entry points, speedboat traffic and keeping distance from the reef. A good visit leaves the ecosystem in the same condition after you leave.

Before the trip

  • Confirm the speedboat and departure pier again on the day of travel.
  • Ask what the backup plan is for strong wind, waves or rain.
  • Wear the life jacket as instructed and do not change snorkelling locations on your own.
  • Bring waterproof protection, dry clothing and appropriate motion-sickness preparation if you are prone to seasickness.
