Planning a beach day
A good beach day in Phu Quoc starts with choosing the right beach for the day's actual conditions and confirming how you can reach it. The west coast may be beautiful on one day while a southern or eastern beach is more comfortable on another, so do not lock yourself into a beach simply because of an old photograph.

How to schedule?
Choose a beach near your accommodation or one that fits naturally with the rest of the day's route, then check wind, waves and local swimming conditions. If the sea is rough, you can still walk the shore, sit somewhere with a view or switch to an inland activity. Do not enter the water simply because the itinerary says “beach day”.
What may be different
The west coast, east coast and offshore areas can have very different sea conditions on the same day. Seaweed, sand condition and water clarity also change with weather and season. An old check-in photograph captures one moment, not a guarantee of what the beach will look like when you arrive.
Before the trip
- Check wind, waves and any safety warnings for the exact beach you plan to visit.
- Swim only in areas where swimming is permitted and where appropriate safety support is available.
- Do not enter the water during thunderstorms, strong surf or when local no-swimming warnings are posted.
- Keep a backup plan for days when sea conditions change.
